Jason Dommer

Class of 2016

While setting up a medical clinic during his second deployment in Afghanistan, traditional senior Jason Dommer, first decided to join the nursing profession.  “It was such an amazing experience to help people who otherwise would have no access to any care and all the nurses I shadowed were so friendly," stated Jason.    Once home from deployment, Jason began working on his prerequisites to get into nursing school.   His interests range between public health and mental health, however, he is excited to help all patients in need.

Jason is looking forward to Convocation and will graduate with academic distinction.  His advice to future nursing students…STUDY!  “Find a group of like-minded people (these may not be your usual friends) and study for every single test you have. You owe it to yourself and the future patients you’ll treat someday to become as knowledgeable as you can.”    After graduation, he will be stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska as a Med-Surg Nurse.
