Michelle Craft

Michelle Craft
When Michelle Craft walked through the doors of the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, it was like walking into her second home. Michelle, a 2015 graduate, is a third generation legacy Sooner Nurse. Her mother – and her grandmother on her father’s side – both earned their degrees at OU. According to Michelle, the choice was easy: “Growing up a Sooner fan, there was no college in my mind that could be better.”

Dr. Melissa Craft, Michelle’s mother, is not just a graduate – she is also a faculty member at the College of Nursing. Through their ties to Nursing at OU, the Crafts have had some unique opportunities. Dr. Craft was able to participate in Michelle’s induction into Sigma Tau Beta – and her pinning ceremony. Dr. Craft says, “We’ve had some pretty awesome moments!”

For Michelle, the legacy of Sooner nursing guides her every step of the way. “My mother and grandmother are and were amazing nurses. I wanted to model by work ethic, morals, and passion after them.” Since graduation, Michelle is doing just that as part of the Nurse Residency program at OU Children’s Hospital, where she is working with a team of labor and delivery nurses.
